Serbia, Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment in Medium-sized Municipalities VI: Feasibility Studies, Environmental Impact Assessments, Detailed Designs, Tender Dossiers

Project Description

Building upon previous phases I-V, the "Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment in Medium-Sized Municipalities in Serbia VI" investment programme focuses on the improvement of the quality of watercourses in Serbia and the enhancement of living conditions in selected medium-sized Serbian municipalities/towns (> 30,000 inhabitants).

In particular, the programme entails investments in waste water infrastructure (waste water treatment plants, sewerage network and collectors) in eight selected Serbian municipalities located close to rivers joining the Danube.

The overall objectives are to (i) secure environmentally and hygienically safe disposal and treatment of wastewater in the participating towns at socially acceptable costs for the population and (ii) protect the surface and groundwater as well water bodies downstream of the participating towns.

This WBIF technical assistance grant finances the preparatory activities, including the development of Feasibility Studies, General Design, Conceptual Design, Preliminary Designs, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Environmental and Social Management Plan, Detailed Designs, and Tender Documents.
