Rail Corridor VIII, Beljakovce - Deve Bair Section: Detailed Design, Tender Documents

Project Description

Corridor VIII will connect the Black Sea with the Adriatic running through Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Albania. It is regionally significant by being one of the ten Pan-European transport corridors and belonging to the South East Europe Transport Observatory (SEETO) comprehensive network.

Railway Corridor VIII in North Macedonia has two missing links - one towards the Republic of Albania and the other towards the Republic of Bulgaria. The latter is, for development purposes, divided into three sections: Kumanovo - Beljakovce (31 km), Beljakovce - Kriva Palanka (34 km), and Kriva Palanka - Deve Bair (23 km).

WBIF has provided a technical assistance grant for the preparation of the Detailed Designs for the part of the eastern link of Corridor VIII between Beljakovce to Deve Bair.
