Update of the Connectivity Network Gap Analysis

Update of the Connectivity Network Gap Analysis

Project Description

Improving connectivity within the Western Balkans and with the European Union is a key factor for growth and jobs in the region. The Western Balkans economies have made the Connectivity Agenda one of their highest priorities, with a special emphasis on the preparation and financing of regional infrastructure investments, but also on the implementation of technical standards and accompanying reform measures.

In 2015, WBIF allocated a TA grant for the preparation of a Gap Analysis to identify and analyse gaps in the core energy and transport network infrastructure, and identify those connectivity investments that would be mature for co-financing by 2020. Subsequently, in 2019, WBIF extended technical assistance for the update of the study to encompass connectivity projects that will be mature by 2024 (road, rail, inland waterways, electricity and gas sectors).
