This project involves the construction of a 110 kV transmission line of approximately 50 km between Virpazar, Briska Gora, and Ulcinj, including the extension of existing substations. The investment aims to increase the absorption of renewable energy, specifically by supporting the Briska Gora solar plant, while reducing CO2 emissions. Aligned with Montenegro’s energy policy and EU standards, the project will enhance grid reliability in the coastal region, eliminate overloading risks, and foster regional economic growth and employment.
The WBIF provides technical assistance for the project's preparation, including the conceptual design, feasibility study with cost-benefit analysis, and a detailed Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA). These activities ensure the investment is appropriately structured and compliant with national, EU, and EBRD technical and sustainability requirements.
