Modernisation of Judiciary Facilities

Modernisation of Judiciary Facilities

Project Description

In line with National Judiciary Reform Strategy, the Government of Serbia has foreseen the improvement of the physical judiciary buildings and facilities. The judiciary investments in Belgrade are interconnected and aim at bringing the judiciary buildings up to adequate and modern standards and requirements which shall lead to a better and more secure functioning of the courts. In addition, the investments will reduce long-term operational costs.

An EIB-funded feasibility study concluded that two buildings accommodating prosecutors of the High Court and the Special Court are the most urgent. In these circumstances, WBIF has approved a TA grant concerning:

  • Support to the Programme Implementation Unit (PIU) created within the Ministry of Justice;
  • Preliminary and Main Design for a new building to accommodate the prosecutors from the Belgrade High Court and related technical specifications for equipment;
  • Preliminary and Main Design for the prosecutor’s offices attached to the Special Court in Ustanička Street and related technical specifications for equipment;
