Priority Bypass on the Montenegrin Coast

Priority Bypass on the Montenegrin Coast

Project Description

This intervention aimed to contribute to the selection and construction of the priority bypass along the Montenegrin coastline.

WBIF technical assistance was requested for the preparation of a feasibility study for the first priority bypass - Budva bypass - identified during the inception phase, after assessing Herceg Novi, Budva, and Bar. The feasibility study was prepared in two stages: first, an initial assessment of technical, socio-economic, financial and environmental factors; and second, the development of a detailed bankable feasibility study.

The benefits of the Budva bypass construction include the reduction of detrimental environmental effects caused by heavy road congestion, reduction in travel time, and improvements in road safety. The investment would also contribute to a seamless connection between Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania.
