Mediterranean Corridor (Road CVc), Construction of Konjic (Ovčari) - Mostar North Motorway Section, Subsection Konjic (Ovčari) - Entrance to Tunnel Prenj: Preliminary Design, Detailed Design, Tender Documentation

Project Description

The Mediterranean Corridor links the Iberian Peninsula with the Hungarian - Ukrainian border. Its extension into the Western Balkans connects Central Europe, specifically Hungary and eastern Croatia, to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Adriatic Sea. With increasing pressure on the infrastructure through high daily average traffic volumes and a corresponding increase in freight volumes, Bosnia and Herzegovina has embarked on an ambitious motorway construction along Corridor Vc on the Mediterranean Core Network Corridor.

The subsection from Konjic (Ovčari) to the entrance to tunnel Prenj is part of the Konjic (Ovčari) - Mostar North motorway section, and, as such, part of the Trans-European Corridor Vc. This subsection is entirely located within the Hercegovacko - Neretvanski Canton and covers the construction of a new (approx. 10 km long) motorway section including two tunnels, six bridges and interchange Ovčari (Konjic), which will enable the connection of the motorway with the main road M-17.

With this WBIF technical assistance grant, the financing is provided for:

  • Development of the Detailed Design for alignment, structures, and interchange in compliance with the EU standards and BiH legal framework, the Preliminary Design, and field works findings;
