Orient/East-Med Corridor, Kraljevo – Rudnica Route 10 Railway Section: Feasibility Study, ESIA, Preliminary Design, Tender Documents

Project Description

Railway section Kraljevo - Rudnica, long 77.9 km, belongs to the main single-track non-electrified railway line Lapovo - Kraljevo - Lešak - Kosovo Polje - Đeneral Janković - Border with Macedonia. The section is part of Route 10 of the SEETO rail network (which is part of the indicative extension of the TEN-T core rail network to the Western Balkans).

In December 2020, WBIF allocated a technical assistance grant for the preparation of the Spatial Plan, Feasibility Study, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, and Preliminary Design including the Conceptual Design and Tender Dossier for the reconstruction and modernisation of the section from Kraljevo to Rudnica. The required technical documentation will be developed based on the results of the Conceptual Design and Pre-Feasibility Study for railway line Stalać - Kraljevo - Rudnica, also prepared with WBIF support and completed in 2020.

The main objective of the investment is to preserve the functionality of this railway section through compliance with relevant standards of functionality, stability, safety, durability and environmental protection. Reconstruction and modernisation of Kraljevo - Rudnica will improve rail connectivity in the region and contribute to the integration of Serbia into the traffic system of the region and the rest of Europe.
